INVITING CANNABIS TO MEET THE FAMILY

It’s that time of the year again, in which families and friends travel far and wide to rejoice and give thanks for the blessings in their lives. A time for us all to slow down while gorging ourselves with delicious nourishment, pastries and wines. Among these self indulgences, could cannabis possibly be taking a seat at your dinner table for the first time?

15 PENNED THOUGHTS & EMOTIONS (WHILE WATCHING PEN15)

If you’re unfamiliar with Hulu’s critically acclaimed show ‘PEN15’ then you have some MAJOR catching up to do. Created and written by real life BFFs Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, ‘PEN15’ is a unique coming of age story that depicts a remarkably authentic portrayal of life as a prepubescent girl. It’s a hilarious storyline that’s been overlooked until now. Set in the year 2000, we join our duo as they embark on their newest and scariest endeavor yet; the seventh grade. Not only do they nail the albeit horrendous fashion choices and hairstyles of the time; the show and its characters transcend passed the butterfly clips, bedazzled jeans and frosty lip gloss to a message we’re all too familiar with: teenagers are terrifying and puberty can be brutal.

RINGING IN THE LUNAR NEW YEAR WITH AN INFUSED MEAL

I could hear chatter and laughter from outside the huge metal doorway. I could also smell my favorite herb burning from where I stood in Downtown Los Angeles. The ambiance inside was delightful and guests were greeted with the “Gold Rush”, a specialty CBD mocktail Pechte created containing a dose of Proof Extracts 20:1 tincture. We also had the option of adding an additional dose of THC thanks to Honey Pot Products and their delicious cannabis infused honey. “Don’t mind if I do”  I whispered to no one. The loft’s open space was adorned with high ceilings, tons of greenery and brick walls drenched in tea lights. A group of women had arrived before me and they were casually passing joints while lounging on lush couches and furry white rugs. Dinner began promptly at 7:15pm with tasty vegan jerk egg-rolls, fresh salad and a pumpkin ginger soup I will never forget.
